Ingredients

Beef Stir Fry:

  • 200 grams Lean Beef strips
  • 1 red onion thinly cubed
  • 2 inner or white leaves of cabbage
  • 100 grams fresh button mushrooms
  • pinch Salt
  • Parsley
  • Paprika or red cayenne pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • Sweet thick soy sauce
  • 50 mls Water

Mashed Potatoes:

  • 4 big potatoes
  • Butter
  • Milk

Instructions

Stir Fry:

  • Place beef strips evenly in a frying pan, add 1 tablespoon oil (olive or vegetable oil), add a pinch of salt, and 50mls of water, then bring everything to boil until water is completely evaporated. Because the oil has a lower boiling point, it won’t evaporate, so the meat strips would start to fry in the oil.
  • Add thinly cubed onions, and stir for about two to three minutes.
  • Add thinly sliced cabbage leaves (the inner white leaves), button mushrooms, more oil, and stir in medium to high heat.
  • Add paprika or cayenne powder, turmeric, and one tablespoon of sweet thick soy sauce.
  • Stir continuously for a minute or two, then add 50ml water, and leave to simmer for four minutes or until water is evaporated.
  • Season with fresh or dry parsley and serve. Serve with Mashed Potatoes.

Mashed Potato:

  • Peel off the skin, cube the potatoes, and boil them til they are tender.
  • Drain off any excess water.
  • Mash potatoes in a solid bowl, add salt to taste, a butter cube, and a few green peas. Mix while adding milk to your desired thickness.
