
(NC) – A summer favourite, the mojito, is having a rebirth as bartenders across Canada are creating new twists on this classic cocktail.
Like spicy cocktails? Why not try a Watermelon and Jalapeno Mojito? Do you love the flavour of fresh, local berries? Try muddling in raspberries to create a signature Razz Mojito.
For a uniquely Canadian twist on the mojito, try replacing sugar with maple syrup, et voila, a Maple Mojito.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz Bacardi Superior Rum
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/2 in lime cutto 4 pieces
- 8-10 mint leaves
- 1 sprig mint for garnish
- 2 oz club soda
Instructions
- Gather mint and rub around the rim of a tall highball glass. Drop mint in glass. Squeeze lime juice from 1/2 lime and drop into glass. Add 1 tbsp maple syrup and muddle with pestle. Next, fill the glass with ice. Add 1 1/2 oz. Bacardi Superior Rum and top with club soda. Stir well and garnish with a lime and sprig of mint.
