The recipes themselves include only the serving sizes, there are no nutritional details for each of the recipes. The recipes, however, do all fulfill the authors promise in his introduction that they require few ingredients and are inexpensive.
With any diet, one of the most difficult things is that many of the ingredients are difficult to source. This recipe collection does use easily sourced ingredients, many of them organic.
There are no photographs throughout the book of any of the recipes, and given that I’ve never seen many of them, I’m not really sure what to expect when I make them. I was also disappointed that there are no nutritional details included in the recipes, as I think that this is an integral part of the diet.
Not A Beginners Guide But A Good Recipe Collection
Although it does claim to be a beginners guide I would say that this is a supplement recipe collection to somebody who is already very familiar with the ketogenic diet. Without the nutritional information or any details or instructions on maintaining a ketogenic diet, I feel that this would be lacking key details required by a beginner.
In all, I think that this is a good collection of recipes, which simply needs to be renamed without the word beginner. Anyone who is already familiar with the Ketogenic Diet will have an excellent collection of recipes with this book.

Raspberry And Chocolate Cheesecake Smoothie
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, full fat or cream and coconut milk
- 2/3 cup raspberries, fresh or frozen
- 1 cup Water
- Stevia drops, to taste, optional
- 1/2 cup whipping cream, heavy or coconut milk
- 2 tablespoons cacao powder, unsweetened
- 2 tablespoons MCT oil, or extra-virgin coconut oil
- Add all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
- Pour into tall glasses and serve with ice if desired.
