Well, I suppose there is a first time for everything. This is the first time I’ll actually review it back a recipe book that has no recipes.
I can see that eyebrow-raising, how can she review a recipe book that has no recipes? And who’s going to create a recipe book that has no recipes? That’s the sneaky part.
Treasured Recipes, Your Favorite Recipe Journal And Organizer is a journal you can use to record your own recipes. It is a lovely book, really well organized, that will help you create an easy to use reference for all of those favorite family recipes.
With a brief How To description at the front of the book, it shows you exactly how the book was meant to be used. Each colored section is designed for a different type of recipe but you get to choose how to put everything together.
Each of the eight colored sections has its own index at the beginning of the book. You can enter the name of the recipe across from the page number where you entered it. Because the section titles are also blank you can choose how you want to organize your recipes.
Just like with cookbooks, there are different ways to organize recipes. You can choose to organize them by type of meal, the main ingredient, it’s really up to you. If you’re creating a family heirloom, you might want to create a section for each of the contributors, so each of them has their own section with all of their recipes included in there.
Each of the recipe pages offers Recipe Title, with a spot for where to put the Name of the person who contributed the recipe. A brief Note Section accompanies the info for Servings, Prep Time & Cook Time. The Ingredients Section is unlined so you can stick in as many ingredients you need. The Instructions Section is lined, offering half the page for the information on how to cook the recipe.
The end of the book includes a handy Glossary of Cooking Terms, Common Ingredient Substitutions, Measurements & Conversions. If you run out of recipe pages, the book even offers an online link to print off some more which you can add to your collection.
This is an excellent journal for the foodie who wants to keep a log of their favorite creations. Highly recommended.
